Residential Loss Ring Fencing
Withers Tsang supports the initiative to lobby Government to scrap or delay the introduction of residential loss ring-fencing as a measure to soften the blow of COVID 19 on residential landlords affected by government assistance programs that have been designed, thus far, to support tenants without offering any material support for landlords.
The removal of loss ring-fencing would align with existing loss carry back initiatives designed to assist business.
Loss carry back though is of little use to residential land-lording businesses if losses remain ring-fenced preventing any immediate cashflow relief for landlords.
